Hell's Frozen over in Texas

 Hello All!

We are freezing in Texas right now. Literally experiencing a historic winter storm!! Does it usually get way below freezing where you're from? Texans have proved to not be prepared at all for this kind of event. I would love to hear in the comments how you cold-weather peeps deal with this!!!

Ok, let's travel!!!

I was really crossing my fingers in hopes that we would land somewhere tropical, and perhaps we could vicariously lounge at the beach.

However, we've landed at another beautiful European River location.

Aulne River, Brittany, France.

My first reaction to this photo was literally having my breath taken away from these hills. How beautiful and rolling the French countryside is!! The Aulne River is 89 miles long, and still part of a navigable canal with original locks and more modern hydro-electric dam.

Fly fishing is EXTREMELY popular at this location as the water way boasts large amounts of trout, walleye, perch, and salmon. There are plenty of guided services to help you learn to fly-fish or even to get you to all the honey holes. (Click to Fish )

Not a fisherman? There are 2 national parks located near the river, and many small villages and hamlets- each with their own unique culture and community. Can you imagine spending all day in a quaint French village with no worries? Bucket list.
The city of Châteaulin is a beautiful town on the river with breathtaking historical sites and buildings.

Okay, someone wish me luck. We better land somewhere tropical tomorrow!

Thanks for reading!
