  Good afternoon travelers! Hope you're all warm and safe this morning. Texas is slowly thawing out and starting the road to recovery after this historic storm. I watched a video on YouTube last night that totally inspired me. Britain's fastest snowboarder, Jamie Barrow, was invited on a Trip to North Korea's most secretive luxury ski resort. He's not a diplomat, a politician, or a celebrity.. however, he showed us that he's an athlete with intelligence and an open mind. Just a short detour, America saw 37,000 casualties during the Korean War. 60,000 British troops fought alongside our American Heroes, with about 1,100 casualties. America and the British worked together as allies to attempt to "liberate" Korea from the communists. Today South Korea is a major economic partner with the US while North Korea is flashing nuclear war heads and military power aimed toward our country.  Its eye-opening to see how this conflict has lasted DECADES.  Hello! Still freezing here in Texas. We are still fortunate to have electricity, however 4 million people in our state are without. What a weird, historical time we are living in. Let's try to warm our minds up a little bit. Tonight's wifi-enabled travel took us to Taoyuan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. I was under the impression that Taiwan was actually a part of China, however, I've been enlightened to their "ambiguous" status. Taiwan is claimed as a territory by the PRC (People's Republic of China) although they claim to have independence known as ROC (Republic of China). As an American, I find it not only vital but courteous to learn about worldly affairs and to keep oneself "in the know." Taoyuan is a active city area with cultural importance and vibrant city views.  Taoyuan City is located in the North section of the Island nation of Taiwan, which is to the east of China, located between the East China Sea and the South China Sea.  Consisting

 Hello All! We are freezing in Texas right now. Literally experiencing a historic winter storm!! Does it usually get way below freezing where you're from? Texans have proved to not be prepared at all for this kind of event. I would love to hear in the comments how you cold-weather peeps deal with this!!! Ok, let's travel!!! I was really crossing my fingers in hopes that we would land somewhere tropical, and perhaps we could vicariously lounge at the beach. However, we've landed at another beautiful European River location. Aulne River, Brittany, France. My first reaction to this photo was literally having my breath taken away from these hills. How beautiful and rolling the French countryside is!! The Aulne River is 89 miles long, and still part of a navigable canal with original locks and more modern hydro-electric dam.  Good evening my friends! Tonight, we jet-setted for Italy! Sicily to be specific. We are exploring the Anapo River . The Anapo River has ancient Greek roots- the name coming from the term "swallowed up"- as there are many points that the river runs underground. Look at how serene this grotto area looks! This river is 25 miles long, and in ancient times, these waters fed into an aqueduct in Syracuse. In modern times, these waters now powers a hydroelectric dam.  There are various sights to see along the waterway including Sicilian mansions, and the famed necropolis of Pantalica. Hello Again!! I'm posting later than I planned to tonight, but I'm glad we can still take our trip today. We were so fortunate enough to land at Lake Memphremagog. Crazy name, right? (My first thought was Lord of the Rings lol) This lake sits in the far North area of Vermont, sharing a border with Quebec.  Fun Fact: 23% of this lake sits in the US. The other 77% sits in Canada.  Although it looks narrow, this lake is actually 687 square miles in area. It measures as 31.69 miles long, and at its deepest- 351 feet. The lake looks swampy in some areas, glassy in others. Trees line almost the ENTIRE coast of the lake.  Lake Memphremagog (no this does not get easier to spell, lol) is a fresh water glacial lake, and is the home to many different species of bass and perch. The lake is also sprinkled with 21 islands- 5 US islands, 1 international island, and 15 Canadian islands- all of varying sizes and views.  My FIRST google earth travel with you guys :) Ok, so tonight I rolled the dice and it took us to...NEVADA. I have never physically been there before. I expected a desert location, and I was right. We landed in Henderson, NV at Sunset Station Hotel & Casino. Henderson is located SE of Las Vegas, and has nice mountain and desert vibes/views. Henderson is a town of approximately 300,000, and the casino is located next to a hospital and a high school.  This is a pretty good sized casino with GREAT entrance presentation and ample parking. It boasts its lounges, bars, and restaurants. Upon researching, rooms seem to be appropriately priced at $60/night and King Suites up to $210/night. The website indicated that they have socially distanced games, as well as increased cleaning due to COVID-19.  The crowd looked more mature, however, the events and GIANT ASS bowling alley prove to be attractive to the whole family.
